Strawberry Fudge Poke Cake

1 box strawberry cake mix

1/4 cups water

1/3 cup vegetable oil

3 large eggs

1 cup strawberry soda

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1/4 cup dark cocoa powder

2 cups powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 container whipped topping

Fresh strawberries for garnish

Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×13-inch baking dish.

In a large bowl, combine cake mix, water, oil, eggs, and strawberry soda. Mix until well combined.

Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and bake according to the package instructions.

Once the cake is baked, allow it to cool for 10 minutes. Use the end of a wooden spoon to poke holes evenly across the cake.

In a saucepan, melt butter and stir in cocoa powder. Remove from heat and whisk in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth.

Pour the fudge mixture over the cake, making sure it fills the holes.

Allow the cake to cool completely, then spread whipped topping over the top.

Garnish with fresh strawberries and refrigerate before serving.
